Well you wouldn’t think that this could happen in Sarasota, FL but we are having very cold nights, in some areas below freezing. Your pool equipment can experience damage if the temperature stays below freezing for too long of a time. So what can you do to protect your investment? If you know that the temp is going to drop below freezing over night you should turn on the pool pump and let it run all night. Moving water will not freeze as fast as still water. If you have a solar heating system be sure that it is turn on as well. In short you need to be sure that water is moving through all of your equipment while the temperature is below freezing.
